Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Northwind Thistle Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Little Rock, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We celebrate small wins and steady routines. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Little Rock. • We reply to every applicant.
