Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Pittsburgh, PA)

We are growing our team at Redstone Fern Transit Planning Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to survey data, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with survey data. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Pittsburgh. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
