Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Philadelphia, PA)

Silverline Quarry Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Philadelphia. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 11 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Philadelphia. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
