Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Philadelphia, PA)

Northwind Stone Arts Center Group is an arts centre in Philadelphia with a full calendar of events, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around exhibitions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Philadelphia. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
