Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Orlando, FL)

Redstone Mill Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Orlando with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 22 people based in Orlando. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to collection routes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
