Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Orlando, FL)

Silverline Mill Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Orlando region, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field records. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
