Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Orlando, FL)

We are growing our team at Nova Fern Energy Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Orlando, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
