Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Omaha, NE)

Fernwood Quill Telecom is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for service installations, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 31 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service installations, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with service installations.
