Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Oklahoma City, OK)

Summit Granite Insurance is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around claims against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
