Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Kansas City, MO)

Nova Iron Property Management manages apartment communities around Kansas City. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent collection, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with rent collection. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Kansas City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
