Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

Fernwood Maple Community Partners is a nonprofit in Jacksonville supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 425 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around client intake against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with food distribution. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
