Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

We are growing our team at Lumen Junction Insurance and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around catastrophe response against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with policy renewals. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
