Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jacksonville, FL)

Westbrook Hollow Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Jacksonville with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 28 people based in Jacksonville. What you will do • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Jacksonville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
