Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jackson, MS)

Foxglove Cedar Health provides primary and specialty care in Jackson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We are busy and kind, and we look after each other. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to insurance authorisations, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with insurance authorisations. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Jackson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
