Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jackson, MS)

Westbrook Maple Manufacturing Group makes precision components in Jackson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around production lines against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with machine downtime. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Jackson. • We reply to every applicant.
