Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jackson, MS)

Highbridge Cross Energy Group is an energy provider in Jackson focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 67 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
