Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Jackson, MS)

Ironwood Oak Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Jackson area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We work weekends and holidays and we make it fun. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with reviews and feedback. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
