Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Indianapolis, IN)

Clearpath Vale Markets serves neighbourhoods around Indianapolis with fresh food and everyday goods, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 713 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with promotions. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Indianapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
