Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Indianapolis, IN)

We are growing our team at Lumen Telecom and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. We keep people connected and take outages personally. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer tickets against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
