Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Honolulu, HI)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Basin Inspection Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to scheduling, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with scheduling. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Honolulu, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
