Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Grand Rapids, MI)

We are growing our team at Stonegate Union Inspection Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
