Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fort Worth, TX)

Westbrook Iron Insurance provides coverage to households and businesses around Fort Worth. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 195 people based in Fort Worth. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Fort Worth. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
