Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fort Worth, TX)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Quarry Inspection Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with equipment calibration. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Fort Worth. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
