Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Fort Worth, TX)

Harborlight Junction Water Authority Group is a public water utility serving the Fort Worth area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 49 people based in Fort Worth. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with meter reading. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Fort Worth, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
