Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (El Paso, TX)

Redstone Thistle Pharma supports drug development and manufacturing around El Paso, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Quality is everyone's job here, not a department. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around regulatory filings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with quality documentation. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in El Paso. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
