Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Detroit, MI)

Redstone Ridge Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Detroit, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 592 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around customer onboarding against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with payment disputes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Detroit. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
