Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Des Moines, IA)

Rivermark Corner Manufacturing is a Des Moines manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. We value people who work safely and speak up. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
