Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Dallas, TX)

Ironwood Beacon Community Partners Group is a nonprofit in Dallas supporting families with food, housing and job help. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around donor records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with benefits enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Dallas, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
