Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Cleveland, OH)

Westbrook Meridian Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Cleveland, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Our crews keep other people's buildings running and we treat them well. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supply orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around safety inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with supply orders. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cleveland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
