Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Chicago, IL)

Highbridge Glen Inspection Services Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for client sites, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Chicago, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
