Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charlotte, NC)

Lumen Telecom is a telecommunications provider in Charlotte focused on reliable home and business connections. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 980 people based in Charlotte. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service installations. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Charlotte, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
