Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charleston, SC)

Bright Sparrow Banking Services is a regional lender in Charleston with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 190 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around card disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with fraud alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Charleston. • We reply to every applicant.
