Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Charleston, SC)

Clearpath Keystone Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Charleston presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around exhibitions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with event logistics. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charleston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
