Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Boston, MA)

Greenridge Stone Farms is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for harvest schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Seasons are busy and the rest of the year is for planning. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to harvest schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
