Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Boise, ID)

Ironwood Sparrow Energy delivers power and gas plans across the Boise region, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Safety comes first on every shift. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to outage response, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Boise, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
