Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Boise, ID)

Fernwood Kestrel Financial Group provides savings, lending and payment services from Boise. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Trust is the product, so accuracy and clarity matter. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account servicing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Boise. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
