Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Baltimore, MD)

We are growing our team at Bluepeak River Financial and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 97 people based in Baltimore. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Baltimore. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
