Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Bridge Energy Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing disputes, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with billing disputes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
