Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Austin, TX)

Fernwood Ivory Legal Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for intake forms, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
