Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Austin, TX)

Bright Rook Press is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for proofing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around customer orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
