Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Virginia Beach, VA)

Ironwood Meridian Hospitality Partners operates hotels and event venues around Virginia Beach, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to group events, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with group events. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • We reply to every applicant.
