Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Virginia Beach, VA)

Redstone Forge Farms is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for grower contracts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We are a family-run business at heart. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grower contracts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with grower contracts.
