Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Virginia Beach, VA)

Northwind Mill Inspection Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for test reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
