Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Tucson, AZ)

Fernwood Vista Water Authority Group operates treatment plants and pipelines around Tucson, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to water quality, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around treatment plant data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Tucson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
