Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Tucson, AZ)

Fernwood Ridge Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Tucson area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with family communication. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Tucson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
