Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Toledo, OH)

Fernwood Hollow Inspection Services is an inspection company in Toledo with field technicians and lab staff, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 29 people based in Toledo. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around equipment calibration against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to certifications, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Toledo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
