Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Seattle, WA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Meridian Inspection Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. You would join a small organisation of about 26 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field inspections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
