Senior Accountant - fixed assets (Savannah, GA)

Amberfield Bright Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Savannah, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our fixed assets. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
