Senior Accountant - fixed assets (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Iron Housing and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be fixed assets. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with rent assistance. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
