Senior Accountant - fixed assets (San Antonio, TX)

Northwind Construction is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on fixed assets for safety records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 47 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around materials orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with safety records. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
